They have six offices across the UK and provide a range of services including low-carbon and low-energy design, renewable-energy generation and application, BREEAM, sustainability, and facilities management.

About the Role

  • As a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer, you will be responsible for ensuring an understanding of project briefs and designing and specifying all Mechanical Building Services systems.
  • You will prepare and review documentation, including designs, specifications, assessment reports, and survey reports.
  • You will carry out detailed calculations using industry-standard software tools, including Excel, CAD, IES, and in-house developed tools.
  • You will conduct site surveys, inspections, and monitoring of site works.
  • You will implement detailed surveys of mechanical services and equipment to establish the status of existing installations and recommend new or upgraded design proposals.
  • You will assist with the development of junior engineers.
  • You will write reports and technical notes.

Requirements

  • You will have a degree in Building Services Engineering or Mechanical Engineering, or an equivalent qualification.
  • You will be chartered or working towards this with CIBSE or IET.
  • You will have 5-10 years of experience working in a design consultancy or a similar environment.
  • You will have knowledge of mechanical design within the built environment.
  • You will have good report writing skills and experience of making presentations to and attending meetings with clients.
  • You will have detailed knowledge of appropriate technical standards and be able to take charge of project deliverables, make decisions, and act on your own initiative.
  • You will have a good level of computer literacy in a range of digital tools, including IES thermal modeling package, Microsoft packages, CAD, and Hevacomp.
  • You will be entitled to 23 days' holiday and 9 public holidays, as well as a yearly bonus and cycle-to-work scheme.
