About the Role
This is a newly created position reporting to the Supply Chain Director. The procurement role has been created due to significant growth within the organisation.
Key Responsibilities
- Compiling and sending out requests for quotations (RFQs) for products within the manufacturing portfolio to support timely purchase order placement.
- Raising purchase orders based on project demand, ensuring alignment with supplier quotes and PEL requirements.
- Regularly expediting open orders and exploring opportunities to accelerate delivery, meeting manufacturing schedules.
- Managing open orders for critical items from placement through delivery.
- Evaluating quotations to ensure they meet requirements and align with budgets
- Reading and reviewing technical drawings

About the Individual
- Previous purchasing experience in the engineering or manufacturing sector
- Strong communication skills and able to manage and maintain supplier relationships.
- Excellent negotiation skills.
- CIPS qualifications are advantageous.
- Proficient in using MS Office applications, and ERP systems
- Able to work to strict deadlines while maintaining quality.
- Experience reading and reviewing technical drawings to understand material requirements
