Job Overview

Electrical Infrastructure Engineer

This position requires a comprehensive understanding of electricity distribution, with a focus on network enhancement, customer integration, and regulatory framework development.

The selected candidate will assist the Head of Assets in liaising with industry stakeholders and regulatory bodies to ensure that ESP Utilities Group Ltd adheres to compliance standards and effectively manages the risks associated with regulatory changes. Additionally, the role involves formulating and executing a strategic plan to ensure that the organization maintains appropriate policies for network adoption and asset data integrity.

Responsibilities include establishing processes, reporting mechanisms, and assurance frameworks to meet safety and compliance standards, including the retention of ISO55001 and other relevant accreditations.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Formulating, assessing, and updating policies related to all facets of connections and asset management.
  • Ensuring adherence to organizational policies as well as national and international standards within the distribution sector.
  • Developing and overseeing effective policies, processes, and procedures for asset data collection and management to guarantee compliance with regulatory and statutory obligations.
  • Maintaining accurate asset records to fulfill regulatory requirements and mitigate risks, including leading audits on completion documentation.

Qualifications

  • Reporting on the compliance status of electrical assets, policies, and procedures.
  • Ensuring compliance of acquired assets across various voltage levels.
  • Providing technical and policy guidance to the design team.
  • Assisting in evaluating asset conditions to confirm their suitability for ongoing service and establishing specific engineering policies.

Essential Skills

  • Familiarity with the Regulatory and Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) Framework.
  • Understanding of the principles and philosophies related to the design of electricity distribution networks and asset management.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of industry standards, recommendations, specifications, and legislation pertinent to the construction and operation of electricity distribution networks.
  • Proficient in computer applications and data analysis.
  • Possesses a proactive and inquisitive approach to problem-solving, with the ability to foster continuous improvement and innovation through collaboration across departments.
  • Ability to maintain a broader perspective beyond the immediate responsibilities of the role.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong relationship management capabilities.
  • Comfortable working collaboratively within a team environment.
