Job Title: Band 5/6 Radiographer, Radiology

University Hospitals of Leicester NHS Trust is seeking a skilled Radiographer to join our dynamic and multidisciplinary team in Interventional Radiology (IR). As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality radiographic services to patients across our 24/7 trauma, vascular, renal, hepato-biliary, urology, oncology, obstetric, and paediatric services.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Maintain a high level of clinical expertise and participate in departmental shift systems and out-of-hours rosters.
  • Participate in rotation through all three UHL sites and perform technical administrative tasks, including accurate patient information, examination details, and post-processing requirements on the Radiology Information and PACS systems.
  • Encourage and practice Get it Right First Time radiography and strive to achieve quality assurance in all aspects of the radiology service.
  • Responsible for the care and comfort of patients while in the Radiology Department, respecting their privacy, dignity, religious, and cultural beliefs.
  • Work closely with the Superintendent Radiographers to provide optimum patient care and constantly seek ways of improving standards and performance.
  • Ensure that a quality assurance programme for all equipment is implemented and maintained, ensuring quality assurance has been performed following servicing, repair, and installation.
  • Ensure the highest standards of radiation protection for staff, patients, and visitors and to ensure a safe working environment in respect of other health and safety issues.
Person Specification:
  • Radiography qualification and/or IR experience.
  • HCPC registration and/or UK experience.
  • Management experience, demonstrating leadership.
  • Communication and relationship skills, including the ability to work as part of a team and interpersonal skills.
