Position Overview

The Engineering Lead will be responsible for overseeing engineering initiatives within the organization, ensuring that all activities align with the strategic goals of Thermo Fisher Scientific.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Project Management: Independently develop, monitor, and execute project plans for engineering activities.
  • Metrics Leadership: Drive site and corporate performance metrics, ensuring effective collaborator management and timely completion of actions.
  • Product Introduction: Provide specialized knowledge and guidance on automation engineering to facilitate the successful launch of new products.
  • Client Engagement: Serve as a liaison with clients, collaborating with counterparts to harmonize processes across various manufacturing locations.
  • Team Mentorship: Share knowledge and provide mentorship to the engineering maintenance team, addressing challenges related to site utilities, including purified water and calibrated equipment.
  • Compliance Assurance: Uphold cGMP standards in the workplace, adhering to site-specific SOPs.
  • Preventative Maintenance: Support and mentor a small engineering team while ensuring adherence to preventative maintenance schedules.
Environmental Health & Safety (EH&S):
  • Comprehend emergency protocols and adhere to safe work practices.
  • Maintain compliance with environmental, health, and safety regulations at all times.
  • Promptly report and investigate all incidents, near misses, and safety breaches.
  • Identify and implement energy-saving initiatives to minimize overall site energy consumption.
Qualifications and Experience:
  • Degree in Engineering or equivalent experience in the pharmaceutical sector, particularly in fill/finish operations.
  • Robust project management experience in production engineering, validation, or quality assurance, with a solid understanding of sterile manufacturing processes.
  • Proficient in project management software, such as Microsoft Project.
  • Experienced in leading change and driving continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Demonstrated people leadership capabilities.
  • Client-facing experience is advantageous.
