Job Title: Data Infrastructure Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Data Infrastructure Engineer to join our team at Barclays Bank. As a key member of our data engineering team, you will play a critical role in designing, building, and maintaining our data infrastructure, ensuring the accuracy, accessibility, and security of our data.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and implement data architectures and pipelines that enable the transfer and processing of durable, complete, and consistent data.
  • Develop and maintain data warehouses and data lakes that manage the appropriate data volumes and velocity and adhere to the required security measures.
  • Collaborate with data scientists to build and deploy machine learning models.
  • Consult on complex issues, providing advice to People Leaders to support the resolution of escalated issues.
Requirements:
  • Experience with databases, big data, and cloud-based ecosystems.
  • Knowledge of ETL tools and technologies such as Ab-Initio, Talend, Informatica, and Datastage.
  • Unix and shell scripting skills.
  • Strong understanding of data modeling and deployment on cloud.
  • Containerization and continuous integration/continuous deployment pipelines.
