About the Role
ABL 1Touch is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Panel MET Technician to join our team. As a key member of our business, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the repair of motor vehicles is carried out to the highest standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Inspect and repair motor vehicles of all types, adhering to industry standards and manufacturer guidelines.
- Carry out repairs in an efficient, safe, and economical manner, ensuring the quality and safety of the vehicle are maintained.
- Employ technical knowledge and skills to restore vehicles to an industry-recognised acceptable standard.
- Observe, recognise, and report on vehicle structure and paintwork.
- Ensure vehicles comply with safety standards when returned to customers, or that faults have been reported and noted on the job card.
- Remove and safely store vehicle components, fluids, and gases as directed by work order.
- Remove and safely dispose of vehicle components and fluids as directed by work order.
- Conduct quality control of all repairs, with final stage sign off.
- Report all faults, defects noticed whilst working on vehicles not apparent before dismantling.
- Ensure the repair method is in the job pack and is fully read, understood, and displayed with the vehicle at all times.
- Sign off the QC section of the Repair Inspection sheet at your and other operatives' relevant repair stage.
- Perform panel alignment and adjacent components.
- Complete filler repairs and finish correctly in P180, and check for pinholes.
- Ensure underseal, weld-through primers, and anti-corrosion measures are complete before the next stage.
- Strip and refit where necessary, including adjustment and panel alignment.
- Report any defects or damage linked to associated jobs but not down for repair.
