About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic individual to join our dynamic Nuclear Medicine department at University Hospitals Coventry and Warwickshire NHS Trust. As a Junior Physicist, you will play a crucial role in supporting the physics team in managing the setup and radioactive decontamination for molecular radiotherapies, managing the contamination monitor and gamma probe QC programme, assisting with radioactive waste audits and disposals, and other key responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide operational and scientific support to the Nuclear Medicine service, ensuring the safe use of complex and valuable imaging equipment.
  • Undertake procedures in accordance with the quality assurance program for Nuclear Medicine equipment, adapting to clinical workload and equipment availability.
  • Contribute to the development of departmental procedures and protocols, producing and maintaining documentation.
  • Participate in teaching, training, and development activities for staff and students, as well as continuing professional development sessions.
