Position Overview
We are in search of a Verification and Validation Engineer proficient in developing and executing test cases for hardware and software, specifically within the realm of satellite and payload testing (SDR – Software Defined Radio).
This role involves collaboration with the Hardware Verification and Validation team, necessitating effective communication with the Test Development team to ensure seamless information exchange among stakeholders with expertise in both hardware and software.
Work Arrangement
The initial training period will be conducted onsite, followed by test execution at a designated site.
The working environment will be hybrid, allowing for a blend of office, client site, and remote work, depending on the role and business needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Comprehension of space systems and satellite communication principles, protocols, and technologies, alongside satellite operations and payload engineering.
- In-depth knowledge of Software Defined Radio concepts tailored for Payload applications.
- Expertise in embedded software validation methodologies applicable to SoC/FPGA systems.
- Proficiency in testing and validating real-time or safety-critical systems for Payload.
- Familiarity with CCSDS or ECSS standards regarding Telecommand and Telemetry.
- Experience in developing and executing test cases for Payload Software testing (preferably in satellite communication).
- Solid understanding of interdisciplinary validation and troubleshooting for complex systems that integrate hardware, software, and algorithms.
- Experience in validating software algorithms and operational systems against user-defined specifications.
- Familiarity with automated systems validation and regression testing.
- Capability to create test cases and utilize protocol simulators (intermediate knowledge of Java programming is essential).
- Good understanding of real-time operating systems (such as free-RtOS or embedded Linux with real-time extensions), systems programming, concurrency, and scheduling; knowledge of QEMU is advantageous.
- Experience with open-source development tools (Eclipse / Github / openjdk).
Security Clearance Requirements
Successful candidates must obtain Security Check (SC) clearance, which necessitates continuous residency in the United Kingdom for the past five years, along with meeting other criteria.
