Financial Accountant Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Financial Accountant to join our team on a 9-month fixed-term contract. The successful candidate will be based near Southampton and will play a crucial role in maintaining and developing the financial accounting function.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Financial Statement Production: Prepare and submit financial statements for Group Legal entities in compliance with accounting standards, including IFRS, FRS 102, and Lux GAAP.
  • Audit Support: Serve as the primary contact for audit fieldwork and support the Audit and board sign-off of financial statements.
  • Technical Accounting: Provide accounting memos and judgement papers, support Group transactions, including acquisitions and reorganisations, and review, document, and continually improve policies and procedures.
  • Board Reporting: Produce and submit Board packs (P&L, BS, and ANLA) and maintain robust and accurate regulatory reporting for regulated entities in multiple jurisdictions.
  • Tax Compliance: Maintain tax compliance and reporting for all jurisdictions and support the group transfer pricing policy.
Requirements:
  • Qualifications: ACA/ACCA (or similar) Qualified or QBE.
  • Financial Accounting: Experience in financial accounting and preparation of simple financial statements.
  • Knowledge: Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office software, as well as a strong understanding of IFRS and UK GAAP principles.
  • Education: GCSE's in English Language and Mathematics.
