Capital Finance Manager Opportunity at Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Capital Finance Manager to join our Finance Directorate at Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust. As a key member of our team, you will play a pivotal role in managing the Trust's capital financial operations, ensuring accurate recording and classification of all assets, and providing technical expertise on asset management.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee the fixed asset register, ensuring accurate recording and classification of all assets
  • Provide technical expertise on asset management, including advising on capitalisation practices and what costs can be capitalised in line with financial standards
  • Lead on the internal and external reporting of capital financials, including capital month-end reporting
  • Manage the capital accounting of the Trust, including maintaining an accurate and up-to-date asset register and monitoring expenditure on all capital schemes
  • Be the VAT expert for the Trust's capital projects, ensuring compliance with current VAT and HMRC requirements
Requirements:
  • Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent) with strong knowledge of IFRS, VAT compliance, and capital finance principles
  • Experience of working on capital projects and managing multiple deadlines, leading teams, and improving financial systems and processes in large, complex organisations
  • Advanced Excel skills, particularly in data modelling and summarising information
  • Knowledge of current accounting issues and a detailed understanding of the regulatory framework
