Job Title: Special Educational Needs Teaching Assistant

GSL Education is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join our special needs Secondary school near Emsworth. Our school caters for around 100 pupils who require a personalized curriculum to meet their moderate learning needs, physical, sensory, and language challenges, many of whom may be on the Autism Spectrum.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work under the guidance of an experienced teacher to support the learning and development of students with special educational needs.
  • Assist teachers in assessing student progress and creating a nurturing and inclusive environment where each child can flourish.
  • Support children with strategies to regulate their emotions effectively and ensure their safety and well-being.
  • Collaborate with the teaching team to develop and implement targeted interventions for small groups of students.

Requirements:

  • Right to work in the UK.
  • Up-to-date CV with two relevant references from within the last 2 years.
  • DBS registered to the update service or willingness to apply for one with GSL Education.
