Job Overview:

We are seeking a skilled CAD Technician to join our team at AWD online. As a CAD Technician, you will be responsible for creating and revising 2D CAD layouts, nesting on profile packages, and liaising with departments to agree design details.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Nesting on profile packages using SigmaNEST and Steel Projects
  • Liaising with departments to agree design details
  • Responding to production queries
  • Producing and revising quality 2D CAD Layout drawings
  • Preparation of production documentation once drawings approved
  • Management of multiple projects
  • Assisting colleagues with technical support
  • Take responsibility for nesting work to the agreed project programmes
  • Responsible for drawings issues and daily housekeeping in terms of both digital and hard copy project file storage

Requirements:

  • Ability to use SigmaNEST and Steel Projects
  • A background in sheet metal/structural steel
  • Previous industry experience as a CAD technician
  • A flexible, proactive attitude
  • Able to work methodically and accurately
  • Excellent communication & organisation skills
  • Be able to priorities work to meet production deadlines
  • Strong numeracy and computer skills
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
