Asset Maintenance Lead

Caterpillar is seeking a highly skilled Maintenance Team Leader to join our team in Desford, Leicestershire. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for leading a team responsible for the site facilities and infrastructure, including planned preventative maintenance, installations, and site projects.
Key Responsibilities- Lead safety risk assessments and ensure a safe working environment for all team members.
- Take breakdown report calls and allocate jobs across the team, ensuring efficient and effective maintenance operations.
- Monitor preventative maintenance performance and identify opportunities for predictive maintenance.
- Root cause analysis on any issues raised within your area of responsibility, ensuring prompt resolution and minimizing downtime.
- Ensure all works are recorded and asset history is built within the CMMS System, maintaining accurate and up-to-date records.
- Hold daily start of shift meetings to discuss tasks, goals, and any concerns, promoting open communication and teamwork.
- Coach and develop team members, providing guidance and support to ensure they have the skills and knowledge needed to succeed.
- Reinforce Caterpillar's Values in Action, promoting a culture of safety, quality, and customer satisfaction.
- Participate in Rapid Improvement Workshops (RIW's) to identify and implement process improvements, driving continuous learning and growth.
- Respond to unforeseen quality, staffing, safety, and production matters, liaising with the Section Manager to develop an immediate corrective action plan.
- Adhere to the Company's Health & Safety policy and safe working practices, ensuring a safe and healthy work environment.
- Undertake training and further learning as required, staying up-to-date with the latest technologies and best practices.
- Support the implementation of robust documented processes for planned maintenance and the implementation of dynamic risk assessment processes, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
- A Maintenance Technician with relevant industrial manufacturing environment experience.
- Successful completion of a nationally recognized accredited multi-year apprenticeship or equivalent qualification, with demonstrated experience in both Electrical and Mechanical Maintenance.
- Initiative-taking and ability to work independently, with strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Effective communication, interpersonal, and organization skills, with the ability to work closely with others to achieve agreed objectives.
- Fully flexible approach to the job role and responsibilities, with a willingness to carry out 'out of hours working' as required.
- Good critical thinking skills, necessary to get to the root cause of issues, and a willingness to participate in ongoing training in line with new technology business needs and personal development.
- Willingness to work a multi-shift system, with a flexible approach to working hours.
- Experience in using PLC-based systems.
- IOSH Managing safely.
