We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Supported Housing Support Worker to join our team at YMCA DownsLink Group. As a key member of our staff team, you will play a vital role in supporting young people aged 16-25 who are at risk of homelessness.
Job Summary:
The Supported Housing Support Worker will work closely with our residents to identify their needs and develop a support plan to help them achieve their goals. This will involve working one-to-one with residents, facilitating group work sessions, and collaborating with other services such as Social Services, Police, Probation, and local organizations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Hold a caseload of residents and work with them to develop a support plan
- Facilitate group work sessions to promote social skills and emotional wellbeing
- Collaborate with other services to ensure a holistic approach to supporting residents
- Provide practical support to residents to help them develop essential life skills
- Contribute to a positive and supportive team environment
About You:
We are looking for someone who is passionate about working with young people and has experience of supporting individuals with complex needs. You will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with residents, colleagues, and other stakeholders. You will also have a good understanding of housing and welfare benefits, as well as an awareness of safeguarding procedures.
