We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Credit Control Assistant to join our team at firmus energy. As a key member of our finance department, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the timely recovery of monies from customers who do not pay within payment terms.
Key Responsibilities:
- Contact late paying customers to recover outstanding gas payments
- Highlight bad debt to the Credit Control Lead for further action
- Negotiate and confirm payment plans with customers and follow up on incoming payments
- Liaise with the Sales and Account Management teams to obtain their support in managing bad debts
- Process refunds when appropriate
- Process domestic credit checks
- Perform other duties as directed by the Credit Control Lead/Manager

Requirements
- Minimum of 5 GCSEs at Grade C or above (or equivalent) including English & Maths, OR minimum of 1 year experience in a Credit Control role
- Experience of working in a customer-facing environment
- Ability to prioritize workload and work on own initiative
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Experience in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook
Desired Criteria
- Familiarity with CRM software and systems
- Experience within the utilities industry
