Lead Maths Department at Wayman Group

We are seeking an exceptional Maths leader to join our team at Wayman Group. As the Head of Maths, you will play a pivotal role in shaping our Mathematics curriculum and ensuring the delivery of outstanding learning experiences.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive Maths curriculum that meets the needs of our students
  • Lead and manage a team of dedicated Maths teachers, fostering a collaborative and supportive environment
  • Monitor and evaluate student progress and attainment in Maths, identifying areas for improvement and implementing targeted interventions
  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop and implement effective teaching strategies and resources
  • Mentor and support Maths teachers in their professional development, ensuring they have the skills and confidence to deliver outstanding lessons
  • Contribute to the school's Maths program and extracurricular activities, promoting a love of Mathematics among our students
  • Maintain accurate records of student data, including attendance, behavior, and achievements
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
  • Specialization in Mathematics or a related field
  • Postgraduate degree in Mathematics or Mathematics Education (desirable)
  • Significant experience teaching Mathematics, preferably in a leadership role
  • Proven leadership and management abilities, with the ability to inspire and motivate others
  • Excellent subject knowledge in Mathematics, with the ability to deliver outstanding lessons
  • Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills
  • Commitment to continuous professional development and staying up-to-date with advancements in Mathematics education
