Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly motivated and organized individual to join our team as an Assistant Shop Manager. As a key member of our retail team, you will be responsible for assisting with the day-to-day operations of our shop, including managing a team of volunteers, overseeing sales and inventory, and ensuring excellent customer service.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist with managing all shop activities, including sales, inventory, and customer service
  • Oversee and manage a team of volunteers, providing training and support as needed
  • Responsible for the day-to-day running of the shop, ensuring it meets agreed income and expenditure targets
  • Manage shop accounting procedures, including cash reconciliation, daily banking, and till procedures
  • Develop and implement strategies to improve sales and customer engagement
  • Collaborate with the wider management team to achieve set targets and maximize financial contribution to the charity

Requirements:

  • Previous retail experience, preferably in a management role
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Highly self-motivated, positive, and resilient individual
  • Ability to build and maintain positive working relationships with a variety of people
  • Confidence working well on own initiative
  • Experience of working in retail management is highly desirable, as is experience working in the charity retail sector
