Position Overview

This role presents an exceptional chance to oversee a diverse team of up to 15 professionals, including a Field Performance Manager, Technical Coordinator, and various skilled technicians engaged in operational and maintenance tasks at sewage pumping facilities in the Home Counties South region.

Key Responsibilities

As the Regional Pumping Operations Manager, you will hold the primary responsibility for ensuring safety, providing leadership, and managing resources effectively. Your focus will be on the operation and upkeep of sewage pumping stations to meet established performance metrics, budgetary goals, quality benchmarks, regulatory standards, and customer satisfaction.

Working collaboratively with the Asset Optimisation team, you will implement initiatives that lead to tangible enhancements in the functionality of sewage pumping stations. Additional responsibilities include:
  • Leading a multi-disciplinary team in executing both planned and corrective maintenance for approximately 270 sewage pumping stations.
  • Advocating for change through a commitment to continuous improvement, promoting best practices, and sharing local expertise.
  • Achieving and surpassing stringent financial objectives while upholding quality standards.
  • Enhancing customer service and overall experience.
  • Fostering a culture centered on safety, performance management, and outstanding customer service.
  • Driving continuous improvement initiatives at all levels to enhance service delivery, reduce costs, and boost asset performance and reliability.
  • Minimizing environmental impact by reducing pollution risks and developing contingency plans for effective responses to operational challenges and equipment failures.
  • Promoting adherence to Health and Safety Policies with a focus on zero incidents, zero harm, and zero compromise.
Location and Working Hours

This position is hybrid, based at the Camberley Sewer Treatment Works, with a commitment of 36 working hours per week.

Candidate Requirements
  • A full UK driving license is mandatory.
  • A minimum of HNC/D qualification in a process or technically related field, along with supervisory experience or qualifications.
  • Proven leadership experience, capability, and vision.
  • Current health and safety management competence.
  • Ability to meet challenging operational targets.
  • Proficiency in IT.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Awareness of business and stakeholder dynamics, coupled with an innovative approach to problem-solving and effective teamwork.
  • Excellent communication skills.
