Position Overview:

  • Job Title: Clinical Nurse Specialist
  • Employment Type: Full-time or part-time with adaptable hours
  • Location: Oxford region (involves working at various branch surgeries)
  • Compensation: £38,000 - £48,000 annually, inclusive of benefits such as CPD leave, NHS pension, 5 weeks of annual leave plus bank holidays, on-site parking, and additional perks.
  • Team Composition: A collaborative group of GP partners, Salaried GPs, Pharmacists, Advanced Nurse Practitioners, Paramedics, Practice Nurses, Healthcare Assistants, and Phlebotomists, supported by a robust administrative and reception team.

Candidate Profile:

  • Registered with the NMC and possessing primary care experience.
  • Experience as a Practice Nurse, particularly in managing chronic conditions.
  • Excellent communication abilities, effective time management, and capacity to work autonomously as well as collaboratively.
  • A courteous, confident, and motivated individual with strong problem-solving skills, integrity, and loyalty.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Administer vaccinations and provide guidance in accordance with national immunization protocols.
  • Deliver health promotion advice regarding nutrition, alcohol consumption, and physical activity.
  • Adopt a comprehensive approach to managing patients with chronic illnesses, adhering to NICE guidelines.
  • Perform cervical cytology smear tests, venepuncture, wound care, suture/staple removal, NHS Travel immunizations, and ECGs.
