{"The Role": "As a Senior Mechanical Engineer, you will take a leading role in identifying, analyzing, and specifying design improvement projects and NPD projects. You will work with internal project teams and external design partners to solve complex problems and deliver mechanical systems designs that meet both regulatory and stakeholder needs.

Key Responsibilities:

* Manage design evolution, DFMEA, and optimizing engineering solutions against requirements, within budget and timescales.
* Provide leadership and technical direction on business programs to ensure delivery of mechanical engineering solutions.
* Work in accordance with the mechanical and company design lifecycles.
* Formulate prototype designs and produce physical representations.
* Provide key support to critical technical problem investigations and deliver effective solutions.
* Chair, support, and facilitate reviews and sign off release of mechanical designs in accordance with business and industry standards.
* Contribute towards continual improvement in product manufacturability through effective relationship building and design guidance / liaison with other engineering functions.

Requirements:

* Engineering, Technical or Science Degree / MSc qualified, or equivalent, with demonstratable aerospace, defence or related experience.
* Demonstrate understanding of engineering first principles applied to problem solving and concurrent engineering practices – structured, logical approach to investigate issues and solve problems in an effective cross-functional manner.
* Experience in mechanical engineering detailed design - first-hand experience of engineering design, analysis, tolerance studies (including GD&T) and generation of technical documentation.
* Ability to lead teams and engage with the customer – demonstrating the ability of fulfilling customer and regulatory requirements (internal and external).
* Able to communicate complex technical aspects clearly and concisely.
* Appreciation of Systems Engineering approach and Project Management Fundamentals - process of delivering products and associated key milestones.
* Business awareness - understanding of fundamental business principles, drivers and key customers with the ability to make effective trade-offs – cost, quality and schedule.
