As a service provider, RES possesses extensive expertise in asset management, operations and maintenance (O&M), and spare parts, supporting a total of 41GW of renewable assets across 1,300 locations.

Position Overview

We are seeking a Wind Energy Service Technician to join our Wind Power Service and Operations team in Scotland. In this role, you will collaborate with your team to ensure the maintenance and repair of our supported technologies and platforms, contributing positively to our safety culture while working alongside our engineering specialists to optimize wind farm performance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform scheduled preventative maintenance and servicing, ensuring all documentation is accurately completed.
  • Conduct corrective maintenance, including fault finding, troubleshooting, and repairs on all turbine systems, which encompass mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic components, while maintaining thorough documentation.
  • Engage in proactive repairs or component replacements to avert complete failures or system downtimes, ensuring maximum turbine availability.
  • Provide out-of-hours and weekend support for turbine breakdowns.
  • Adhere to all health and safety regulations, including the WTSR.
  • Assist the Technical Manager in developing effective solutions.

Qualifications

  • Experience as a Service Engineer with a background in Gamesa G8X.
  • Proficient in troubleshooting and fault-finding.
  • Strong computer skills, including word processing, spreadsheets, email, and management/reporting systems, as well as diagnostic and troubleshooting tools.
  • Willingness to work overtime during weekends, bank holidays, and on short notice.
  • Participation in an on-call schedule is required.
  • A valid UK driver's license with a satisfactory driving record.
  • Good physical condition is essential, as medical examinations will be conducted.
