Position Overview

We are seeking a skilled Auto-Electrician Team Leader to join our Van-Fit team, responsible for the customization of CCTV inspection vehicles tailored for the drainage sector. The ideal candidate will thrive in a dynamic environment, ensuring the installation of various electrical components and aftermarket products in vehicles.

Key Responsibilities

Auto-Electrician Duties

  • Install comprehensive wiring and electrical systems, including inverters, lighting, solar panels, beacons, and heating units.
  • Diagnose and repair electrical issues in existing vehicles.
  • Construct and manage wiring looms and split charge systems.
  • Design and modify electrical systems as required.
  • Collaborate with the joinery team for woodwork installations.
  • Work cohesively with team members to uphold high-quality standards in all tasks.

Team Leader Responsibilities

  • Ensure the timely execution of daily and weekly plans while meeting departmental delivery goals.
  • Maximize productivity and output safely within the team.
  • Communicate effectively with stakeholders through daily briefings and meetings.
  • Provide support to the Van-Fit Supervisor during absences to maintain operational continuity.
  • Assist in training new team members.
  • Engage with the team on innovative projects and improvements.

Candidate Profile

  • Completion of an approved apprenticeship or NVQ level 3 in Auto Electrical Systems installation and maintenance.
  • Proficient in diagnosing electrical faults in automotive systems.
  • Experienced with power tools, voltage meters, and hand tools.
  • Exhibit strong attention to detail and manual dexterity.
  • Capable of performing diagnostic electrical tests.
  • Understanding of electrical wiring fundamentals.
  • Adept at using electronic diagnostic equipment.
  • Ability to convey technical vehicle issues in simple terms.
  • Skilled in reading schematic diagrams.
  • Proficient in soldering techniques.
  • Flexible and adaptable in work approach.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently to high standards.
