Job Title: Anaesthetics and Recovery Nurse
Job Summary:
South Shore Health Department of Anesthesia is seeking a skilled Anaesthetics and Recovery Nurse to join our team. As a key member of our perioperative team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care during surgical procedures and in the recovery room.
Responsibilities:
- Ensure patient identification and obtain appropriate health history.
- Obtain informed consent for anesthesia.
- Provide anesthesia induction, maintenance, emergence, and post-anesthesia care.
- Provide mechanical ventilation.
- Obtain blood samples and manage regional anesthetic.
- Provide perianesthetic invasive and non-invasive monitoring utilizing current standards and techniques.
- Recognize and treat cardiac dysrhythmias through perianesthetic electrocardiogram monitoring.
- Evaluate patient response during emergence from anesthesia.
- Institute pharmacological or supportive treatment to ensure adequacy of patient recovery from anesthesia and adjuvant drugs.
- Provide post-anesthesia follow-up, report, and evaluation of patient's response to anesthesia and potential anesthetic complications.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in nursing or relevant undergraduate degree.
- Graduate of accredited nurse anesthesia program.
- Solid understanding of current anesthesia practices and techniques.
