Health & Safety Manager – Energy Sector (DNO)

We are seeking a seasoned Health & Safety Manager with a strong background in the Distribution Network Operator (DNO) and energy utilities industries. In this role, you will play a pivotal part in ensuring that health, safety, and environmental standards are consistently upheld across our operations, with a particular focus on remote teams working in challenging and high-risk environments.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop, implement, and maintain robust health, safety, and environmental policies and procedures.
  • Conduct regular site inspections and audits, including remote and rural locations, to identify potential hazards and ensure adherence to protocols.
  • Lead incident investigations, implementing corrective actions to prevent future occurrences, and provide ongoing training and support to employees on best practices for health, safety, and environmental management.
  • Collaborate with project managers and field teams to integrate health and safety considerations into project planning and execution.
  • Prepare and present regular health and safety performance reports to senior management and stakeholders.
  • Manage and coordinate emergency response plans, particularly for work in farmland and under power lines.
  • Oversee the provision of appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for all installers and surveyors.
  • Develop protocols for working safely in various climates and weather conditions.
  • Ensure the safe operation and maintenance of commercial vehicles and Polaris off-road vehicles.
