Position Overview
Our aspiration is to establish ourselves as the premier asset management organization, assisting clients in maximizing the performance and value of their physical assets throughout the entire lifecycle—from planning and creation to maintenance, operation, and eventual disposal. We integrate our digital, engineering, data analytics, and consultancy expertise from our global teams to provide sustainable and predictive asset management solutions for asset-intensive organizations, facilitating operational, tactical, and strategic decision-making in an ever-evolving environment.
We have an exciting opportunity for a Principal Asset Management Consultant to join our Infrastructure Asset Management team. In this role, you will be instrumental in executing our asset management strategy, leading various consultancy projects, and developing value propositions within the rail, highways, and aviation sectors. Additionally, you will support the broader asset management consulting and advisory business across our global sectors, including Mobility, Resilience, and Places.
You will be a vital member of the team within the Mobility division of Arcadis, reporting directly to the Head of Highways Asset Management. Your contributions will be essential in expanding the business and creating new opportunities. This newly formed team consolidates our robust asset management capabilities into a cohesive offering, primarily focusing on the highways sector while also allowing for involvement in rail, aviation, and ports. Individuals with a growth mindset will find ample opportunities for professional development, and as the team evolves, you may oversee and mentor junior staff, serving as a technical expert in asset management.
Key Responsibilities
- Utilizing your asset management process expertise to ensure the timely delivery of projects, meeting quality and budgetary targets while striving to exceed client expectations.
- Assisting in the implementation of our UK Mobility asset management strategy and Highways asset management strategy, while also contributing to the development of our global capabilities, particularly regarding international asset management standards (e.g., ISO suite) and risk/performance-based maintenance advisory.
- Managing client relationships and stakeholder interactions, both internally and externally, to foster positive outcomes for all parties involved.
- Engaging with the market, providing thought leadership, and identifying future opportunities for Arcadis to enhance the value and growth of our Asset Management team and offerings.
- Leading and supporting cross-business line proposals for asset management opportunities.
- Promoting and marketing all aspects of the company's services during client interactions and beyond.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Proven experience in developing comprehensive asset management solutions for the transportation sector, addressing strategic, tactical, and operational challenges. This includes formulating asset management strategies, policies, lifecycle plans, asset risk assessments, operations and maintenance planning, decision support tools, and asset data quality evaluations.
- Experience working with end markets such as strategic and local highways, either as a client or in a consultancy capacity. While experience in highways is preferred, candidates with backgrounds in rail and aviation will also be considered.
- Strong understanding and familiarity with industry standards and best practices, including ISO principles and GFMAM methodology.
- Experience in tender management and bid processes.
- Solid understanding of risk management methodologies (e.g., FMECA, Bow Tie, Fishbone).
- Experience in utilizing or developing decision support tools to inform asset management decisions.
- Progressing towards Chartered status or membership in a Professional Institution (e.g., IAM).
