Job Description: Global Health & Safety Lead
We are seeking a passionate and driven Global Health & Safety Lead to join our team. Reporting to the Global SHE Director, you will play a vital role in shaping and implementing safety strategies across our organization. Your primary focus will be on fostering a strong safety culture that prioritizes the well-being of all employees.
Responsibilities:
- Lead by example and embody Alkegen's core values, promoting a culture of safety and accountability throughout the company.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders at all levels, fostering open communication and collaboration on safety initiatives.
- Serve as a subject matter expert in Safety, Health, and Environmental (SHE) matters, providing guidance and support to teams across various departments.
- Manage the Internal SHE Management System Audit program, ensuring compliance with established standards and best practices.
- Stay abreast of relevant statutory requirements and industry regulations, implementing necessary measures to maintain compliance.
- Proactively identify and assess potential risks within the organization, developing and implementing mitigation strategies to minimize hazards.
- Develop and implement comprehensive safety programs and emergency response plans, ensuring preparedness for various scenarios.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and execute effective safety strategies aligned with Alkegen's overall business objectives.
Qualifications:
- A recognized Occupational Health & Safety qualification is essential.
- An Environmental qualification is highly desirable.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite is required.
- Experience with Management of Change systems and Process Safety Management techniques is preferred.
- Knowledge of behavioral safety management systems is beneficial.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills are essential for success in this role.
