Job Summary

This is a challenging and rewarding role for an experienced Paediatric Oncology Advanced Clinical Practitioner to join our team at St George's Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality patient care and providing expert clinical leadership in paediatric oncology.

Main Responsibilities
  • Practice in compliance with the NMC code of professional conduct and work autonomously as an ACP to provide patient-centred quality care.
  • Deliver an 80% clinical component to your role and 20% related to leadership and management, education and research.
  • Be an expert practitioner and role model in the field of paediatric oncology nursing and paediatric venous access, providing consultancy in these fields for all nursing and medical staff across the Trust.
  • Use expertise and decision-making skills to inform clinical reasoning approaches when dealing with differentiated and undifferentiated individual presentations and complex situations.
  • Be responsible for co-ordinating the admission, assessment and discharge arrangements for paediatric oncology patients.

Person Specification
  • Essential qualifications and experience include a relevant degree, a Master's degree in Children's Advanced Clinical Practice or equivalent, and a minimum of 7 years post-registration experience in paediatric oncology services.
  • Desirable qualifications and experience include a management qualification, a leadership qualification, and experience as a clinical leader.
Skills and Knowledge
  • Advanced clinical assessment and history taking skills.
  • Extensive experience in safe handling and administration of intravenous chemotherapy.
  • Highly developed diagnostic reasoning skills.
