London, Greater London, United Kingdom Deutsche Bank Full time
Job Overview:

Position: Algorithmic Trading Risk Management Specialist

Location: London

Corporate Title: Assistant Vice President

The Chief Risk Office is responsible for overseeing and controlling all types of risks including credit, market, operational, enterprise, and liquidity risks across the organization. This function is dedicated to the ongoing enhancement of risk measurement methodologies, frameworks, and fostering a robust risk culture throughout the bank.

Non-Financial Risk Management (NFRM) operates as a second line of defense, ensuring comprehensive oversight of non-financial risks (NFR). This includes risk identification, assessment, control frameworks, risk appetite, and scenario analysis.

The NFRM function aims to effectively manage the bank's exposure to non-financial risks in alignment with the overall risk appetite and framework. To achieve this, the NFRM team seeks:
  • Experienced Risk Managers who possess the necessary expertise and tools to evaluate complex risks and take action when risks exceed the bank's appetite.
  • A streamlined, integrated NFR Framework supported by technology to facilitate risk identification, assessment, and remediation.
  • A solid understanding of business operations, along with regular engagement to provide support and challenge in accordance with the 3 Lines of Defense Model.
  • Collaboration with Second Line Risk Type Controllers to create a comprehensive view of non-financial risks.
  • Proactive consideration of emerging risks, not just current challenges.
  • Robust governance supported by management information that aids in decision-making.
NFRM functions within a matrix structure that encompasses business/region and functional specialists.

In this role, you will provide specialized analysis and risk management oversight for Algorithmic Trading.

What We Offer:

Expect the following benefits:

  • Competitive salary along with a non-contributory pension plan.
  • 30 days of annual leave plus bank holidays, with the option to purchase additional days.
  • Life Assurance and Private Healthcare coverage for you and your family.
  • A variety of flexible benefits including Retail Discounts, a Bike4Work scheme, and Gym benefits.
  • Opportunities to engage in a wide-ranging CSR program, including 2 days of volunteering leave per year.
Your Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist in reporting on the risk profile and appetite at various organizational levels; prepare materials for Business Partner meetings and governance forums.
  • Support the analysis of algorithmic risk levels and collaborate with Divisions and Group Procurement on follow-up actions.
  • Conduct oversight, review, and challenge of first-line interactions with regulators.
  • Represent NFRM in relevant committees.

  • Contribute to regulatory responses and information requests.
Your Skills and Experience:
  • Strong understanding of algorithmic trading and associated risks.
  • Knowledge of Non-Financial Risk Management principles with relevant experience in first-line risk & control roles, second-line risk functions, or audit.
  • Proficiency in MS Excel, Tableau, or other reporting/visualization tools.
  • Analytical mindset, strong relationship-building skills, and attention to detail.
  • Proven ability to develop effective working relationships.
  • Experience in high-pressure, dynamic environments.
How We Support You:
  • Flexible working arrangements to help balance personal priorities.
  • Coaching and support from experienced team members.
