Your Opportunity:

As an Occupational Therapist II with Alberta Health Services, you will be part of a multidisciplinary team that includes Occupational Therapy, Physical Therapy, Audiology, Speech Language Pathology, Case Management, and Therapy Assistants. Your key responsibilities will include conducting assessments, implementing evidence-based interventions, facilitating discharge, and providing follow-up support to empower your clients. You will also be responsible for chart audits, providing education and feedback to staff, and participating in program planning and development. Your leadership and interpersonal skills will be essential as you supervise students, provide clinical guidance to staff, and collaborate with managers. Job Summary:

As an Occupational Therapist II, you will be responsible for the coordination of occupational therapy and other allied health clinical services within a program or service area. You will provide supervision of students and team members as assigned. You will work both independently and as part of an interdisciplinary team, providing leadership to other healthcare professionals. You will make day-to-day clinical decisions on patient/family needs regarding assessment, intervention, discharge, and follow-up. You will advise team members on complex clinical cases and provide clinical leadership within the program or service area to ensure safe, efficient, and effective client care. You will ensure occupational therapy practice is evidence-based and in alignment with Alberta legislation and regulations, professional standards of practice, code of ethics, and AHS policy and guidelines.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Coordinate occupational therapy and other allied health clinical services within a program or service area
  • Provide supervision of students and team members as assigned
  • Work independently and as part of an interdisciplinary team, providing leadership to other healthcare professionals
  • Make day-to-day clinical decisions on patient/family needs regarding assessment, intervention, discharge, and follow-up
  • Advise team members on complex clinical cases and provide clinical leadership within the program or service area
  • Ensure occupational therapy practice is evidence-based and in alignment with Alberta legislation and regulations, professional standards of practice, code of ethics, and AHS policy and guidelines
Required Qualifications:

Master's degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited university program or bachelor's degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited university program and related experience. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the Alberta College of Occupational Therapists (ACOT).
