You will be responsible for supporting the Operations Manager in the day-to-day running of the warehouse, ensuring all aspects of Health & Safety are maintained, and product is picked and dispatched to the highest standard.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Team Management: Manage and motivate the shift team to achieve productivity and service KPIs.
  • Health, Safety, and Hygiene: Ensure the highest levels of health, safety, and hygiene are upheld, and relevant paperwork is completed and retained.
  • Quality and Compliance: Maintain the highest levels of quality and compliance, and ensure the site operates to the required audit standard.
  • Communication: Deliver communication briefings to ensure all shifts are aware of company and local issues, and employees feel involved.
  • Goods Inwards: Manage the Goods Inwards area to ensure receipts are made quickly and without damaging goods.
  • Team Development: Develop all team members to maximize their contributions to the warehouse.
  • Disciplinary and Grievance: Carry out disciplinary and grievance interviews and investigations in line with company procedure.
  • Sickness Absence: Monitor and control sickness absence levels in line with company policy.
  • Time and Attendance: Monitor and control the time and attendance system.
  • Training and Development: Monitor and control training for teams, ensuring the correct amount of health and safety representation on shift.
Requirements:
  • Strong Interpersonal Skills: Strong interpersonal, conciliation skills, and the capacity to network with suppliers and customers.
  • Efficient Workload Management: Ability to work efficiently and accurately under pressure, effectively prioritizing workload to meet set deadlines.
  • Leadership and Teamwork: Ability to lead a team, delegate, supervise functions, and keep staff motivated, working as part of a team or individually.
  • Flexibility: Must be flexible in approach to work and shift patterns.
  • Technical Skills: PC literate in MS Word, Excel, and Outlook, with working knowledge of WMS systems.
