Position Overview
The Tax Manager role at Rosekirk LLP presents an opportunity for career advancement to a Senior Tax Manager for the right individual.
The ideal candidate will demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of UK private client and expatriate tax regulations, alongside exceptional written and verbal communication skills. A proven ability to navigate complex tax scenarios is essential.
While prior experience with the Australian tax framework is not mandatory, the selected candidate will be expected to engage in extensive training to familiarize themselves with the Australian tax system. On-the-job training will also be provided to support the candidate's professional growth.
The primary responsibilities will include delivering tax advice related to UK income tax, employment taxes, capital gains tax, inheritance tax, and trusts, as well as Australian income tax and trusts. Additionally, the candidate will be tasked with cultivating and managing client relationships, reviewing UK personal tax returns, and mentoring junior staff in the preparation of these returns.
All team members are encouraged to actively participate in the firm’s initiatives focused on business, staff, and cultural development.
Furthermore, staff members are expected to contribute to the firm’s growth by engaging in business development activities.
Required Skills and Experience
Academic Background
Candidates should possess strong UK tax expertise and relevant qualifications such as CTA, ATT, ACA, or ACCA. A degree is preferred.
Professional Experience and Skills
A minimum of 5 years’ experience in a UK Chartered Firm or a comparable environment focusing on private clients, expatriates, or mixed tax scenarios is required. Candidates should have solid UK tax technical knowledge and extensive experience with UK personal tax returns. While Australian tax experience is not a prerequisite, candidates with such experience will be prioritized. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and the ability to learn additional software, particularly Digita Personal Tax Software (UK – Thomson Reuters) and XPM, is necessary.
