The Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Assistant Psychologist to join our Adult Neurodevelopmental Service team. The successful candidate will provide high-quality support and assistance to our clinical team, contributing to the development of our service and the delivery of excellent patient care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide clinical support to the team, including observations and case note reviews.
  • Conduct evidence-based literature searches to inform diagnostic assessments.
  • Contribute to service objectives and national targets.
  • Participate in research and audit initiatives.
  • Develop and maintain effective relationships with third sector organizations.
  • Engage in professional development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge.
Requirements

The ideal candidate will possess a strong academic background in Psychology, with a minimum of an Upper Second Class Honours degree. They will also be eligible for Graduate Basis for Chartership of the British Psychological Society (GBC) and hold a driving license with access to transport. A high level of computer skills and knowledge of statistical packages is essential.

Desirable Qualifications and Experience

Additional postgraduate training or qualifications in human services, particularly in mental health, are highly desirable. Experience working with people with mental health needs and involvement in clinical research are also highly valued. The ability to use a variety of computer applications, including statistical analysis packages, spreadsheets, databases, and word processors, is essential.

Contract and Working Pattern

This is a fixed-term position for 12 months, with a full-time working pattern of 37 hours per week. The role will be based in Kirklands, Bothwell, with a working pattern of Monday to Friday, 9:00-5:00.
