The IT and Technical Services department's Operations team at EMBL-EBI is seeking a Senior Site Reliability Engineer to support the growing portfolio of services it provides to the Institute's service and research teams.
The Operations team is responsible for maintaining and developing the Institute's transfer services, application and monitoring systems for software-defined object storage, authentication and authorization systems, and other critical infrastructure components.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in IT operations, cloud infrastructure, and high availability systems, with experience in designing, implementing, and maintaining scalable and secure infrastructure solutions.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Designing and implementing high availability infrastructure solutions to ensure minimal downtime and maximum system uptime.
- Developing and maintaining monitoring systems to detect and respond to infrastructure issues in real-time.
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams to identify and prioritize infrastructure projects and initiatives.
- Providing technical guidance and support to junior engineers and other stakeholders.
The successful candidate will have excellent technical skills, strong communication and collaboration skills, and a passion for delivering high-quality infrastructure solutions.
