Role Overview.
Are you enthusiastic about safety and technology? Do you excel in a fast-paced environment where you can significantly influence business operations? We are looking for a Product Specialist in Technical Health & Safety to join our forward-thinking team and help us maintain the highest safety standards across our operations.
In this dynamic role, you will provide subject matter expertise and take charge of the management, development, and implementation of products and services throughout their entire life cycle, from inception to retirement. This position emphasizes the Technical and Health & Safety aspects within a specific sub-domain in Group IT.
Key Responsibilities.
  • Product Knowledge: Develop a comprehensive understanding of our technical health and safety products, ensuring they are in line with our business processes.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Work collaboratively with internal teams, stakeholders, and clients to ensure smooth product integration and support.
  • Analytical Problem-Solving: Utilize logical and analytical methods to identify and address product-related issues.
  • Communication: Provide clear, concise, and impactful business communications, including requirement documentation and report writing.
  • Travel: Regular travel across the UK is essential for this role.
Candidate Profile.
Ideally, you will have prior experience in a similar position and possess the following skills and knowledge:
  • A solid understanding of business processes for which products are designed.
  • Strong communication skills and attention to detail.
  • Knowledge of IT and a solid understanding of how the technical specialization relates to other IT areas and impacts our business functions.
  • The ability to approach problem-solving logically and analytically.
  • Proficiency in business written communication and requirements gathering.
  • Foundation in business analysis.
  • Stakeholder management skills.
  • Basic understanding of project management principles.
  • UK travel is necessary - Full Driving License required.
  • Basic understanding of change management.
  • Ideally, experience in the FMCG sector.
  • Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with SQL.
  • Report writing skills (SSRS, Crystal, BI Solutions).
  • Familiarity with development tools used to create software products and their system interfaces.
  • A good understanding of the development lifecycle and the role of software testing.
  • Experience and knowledge in technical food safety software and traceability software.
