Senior UI Designer (Design System Specialist)

Linux Recruit is seeking a highly skilled Senior UI Designer to join our team. As a Design System Specialist, you will be responsible for creating and maintaining a brand new web application that will sit on top of the existing web application.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Establish and build a new design system that will take over the existing web application
  • Work with large, multi-national organisations to develop and implement design solutions
  • Design and develop user interfaces that meet the highest standards of quality and accessibility
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure design consistency and alignment with business goals
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest design trends, technologies, and best practices
Requirements:
  • Strong understanding of UI design principles, typography, colour theory, and layout design
  • Experience with creating and maintaining design systems, style guides, and component libraries
  • Knowledge of user-centred design principles and best practices
  • Understanding of accessibility standards (WCAG) and how to implement them in UI designs
  • Proficiency in Figma and other design system tools, such as Storybook
Nice to Have:
  • Experience working on direct to consumer and mobile first products/designs
  • Knowledge of the limitations of building the new app using React
