Boeing Defence UK (BDUK), a subsidiary of the Boeing Company, employs over 1,400 professionals in the UK. Our programs encompass multiple service lines (workstreams) that span communications systems, mission systems, and platform integration, along with associated support elements. We are seeking a Maintenance/Manufacturing Planner to play a pivotal role in our team, responsible for delivering essential capabilities and developments, including product innovation, testing, mission support systems, and training devices. This role is crucial in translating customer needs into effective solutions, requiring collaboration within multidisciplinary teams to generate proposals and develop deliverable outcomes.

Our international programs involve key partnerships with Boeing Defence, Space and Security in the USA, and Boeing Defence Australia. This collaboration offers opportunities for travel, whether for short or extended periods. Key Responsibilities:

  • Develops technical work instructions in compliance with approved processes and regulatory standards, including writing, editing, and proofreading technical documents, as well as verifying and collating engineering information.
  • Interprets various formats of approved engineering data from Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs), Design Organizations, or customer-controlled maintenance data sources to create standardized, user-friendly production plans that meet regulatory requirements.
  • Facilitates the creation, receipt, and delivery of complex electronic manufacturing plans and work packages.
  • Manages configuration control of plan sets, including engineering baseline establishment lists, manufacturing work instructions, and associated aircraft-specific plans.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in scheduled maintenance, repair, and modification of aircraft/components, with appropriate training or authorization on the relevant aircraft or component types.
  • Ability to create detailed work instructions through technical writing, ensuring compliance with all requirements and work recording measures.
  • Proficient in Engineering Resource Planning tools, such as Gold ESP MRO.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to convey and comprehend technical work requirements effectively to meet key business objectives.
  • Familiarity with MAA Regulatory Articles, MAA Regulatory Publication Part 145, aviation Quality Assurance, and Safety Management System processes, and their application within the area of responsibility.
  • Capable of understanding and interpreting technical documents and drawings to provide guidance and support to teams working on aircraft or in the production of work orders.
  • Ability to work collaboratively across management levels and functional areas, effectively engaging with customers.
  • Experience in managing and prioritizing demanding workloads to meet deadlines and budgetary constraints.
  • Knowledge of air system scheduled maintenance to effectively review and manage Statements of Work and deferred work at the pre-input phase.
  • Willingness to work a shift pattern if necessary.
