Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced and chemotherapy-competent Band 6 Nurse to join our nurse-led service, providing chemotherapy, supportive therapies, and apheresis to patients with Haemato-Oncology and Solid Cancer.

Main Responsibilities
  • Provide high-quality patient care, assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating individualized care plans in conjunction with the inter-professional team.
  • Act as a professional role model and clinical teacher, providing effective mentorship and supervision to nursing and non-nursing staff.
  • Liaise closely with the Senior Sister/Charge Nurse, taking charge of the Day Care Unit as required, and coordinating patient care on a day-to-day basis.
  • Monitor and promote high standards of nursing care, evaluating planned care regularly according to unit standards.
  • Provide effective, visible clinical leadership for the team, deputising for the Senior Sister/Charge Nurse as needed.
Person Specification
  • Essential criteria: registrant with NMC, chemotherapy certification, mentorship course, and specialist relevant clinical course.
  • Desirable criteria: leadership programme or equivalent, degree or working towards first degree, and chemotherapy course.
