Job Summary:
Award-winning company AWD online is seeking an experienced Assistant Buyer / Purchasing Administrator to join our team. As a key member of our procurement department, you will be responsible for sourcing and purchasing materials, monitoring market trends, identifying cost-saving opportunities, and maintaining our Approved Supplier List.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure all purchased items meet contract schedules and work with the team to determine action for overdue materials
- Collaborate with project managers to understand material requirements and specifications
- Support the development of our sustainability and social impact agenda, proactively engaging the supply chain for innovations and new sustainable products or technologies, and keeping detailed reports on our sustainable outputs, such as fuel usage and spend on timber
- Work with procurement team members and project teams to review contract progress and address associated issues immediately
- Previous experience in a Buying / Purchasing / Procurement role or environment is preferred, but not essential
- Confident telephone manner
- Competent with IT, including Microsoft Excel
Requirements:
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel
