Position: Senior Building Surveyor - Major Projects
Type: Permanent Contract
Compensation: £65,000 - £90,000 + Vehicle + Performance Bonus
Location: Essex
We are seeking a seasoned Surveyor / Project Manager, preferably Chartered MRICS / FRICS, with a proven track record in managing projects valued between £100k and £1M+. The ideal candidate will possess a strong commitment to fostering relationships, delivering exceptional client service, and maintaining the highest standards of technical excellence.
Key Qualifications:
- Collaborative mindset, working effectively with team members across various departments
- Proactive approach to ensure timely and budget-conscious project delivery
- Experience in insurance-related projects is highly advantageous
- Ability to anticipate challenges and resolve issues efficiently, adapting to client needs and service level agreements
- Strong communication skills, capable of managing diverse stakeholders with proficiency in both verbal and written formats
- Comprehensive technical understanding of residential and commercial properties, including damage assessment, restoration techniques, and adherence to industry regulations
- Familiarity with relevant Health & Safety and CDM legislation
- Possession of a valid UK driving license and readiness to travel as required
In this role, you will collaborate closely with our skilled adjusters, where the claims process is primarily led by adjusters and necessitates additional surveying expertise to expedite and resolve insurance claims efficiently.
Your responsibilities will include conducting initial assessments of property damage to a high professional standard, determining and agreeing on defect diagnoses, and ensuring compliance with Planning, Building Regulations, Party Wall agreements, and CDM requirements. You may also be tasked with coordinating testing (e.g., ACMs), preparing reports, resolving complaints, and ensuring adherence to performance and procedural standards. All claims will require detailed appraisal reports, including budget estimates and recommendations.
