Position Overview

We are seeking two skilled Field Engineers to enhance our expanding IT Service Provider team, driven by our recent achievements.

This role offers a chance to shift from conventional maintenance and repair tasks, as the organization aims to focus on proactive measures and automation. This could be the perfect fit for those looking to evolve their career.

Your primary responsibility will be to deliver on-site technical assistance, troubleshooting, and upkeep of IT systems for our clientele. Collaborating closely with our support team and clients, you will address technical challenges, execute installations, and guarantee the optimal functionality of IT infrastructure. This position demands a blend of technical knowledge, customer service aptitude, and the capability to operate independently in various environments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct on-site diagnostics, troubleshooting, and repair of hardware, software, and network issues for clients.
  • Install, configure, and deploy IT equipment, including servers, desktops, laptops, networking devices, and peripherals.
  • Carry out routine maintenance tasks such as software updates, system backups, and hardware inspections to ensure the seamless operation of IT systems.
  • Act as the primary liaison for clients during on-site visits, delivering technical support, guidance, and solutions in a professional manner.
  • Address urgent client requests and IT emergencies, providing prompt and effective resolutions.
  • Possess a solid understanding of IT systems, including Windows and Linux operating systems, network configurations, and commonly used business software.
  • Demonstrate experience in hardware installation, troubleshooting, and repair, encompassing servers, PCs, printers, and networking equipment.
  • Have a comprehensive understanding of networking principles (e.g., TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP) and experience in configuring and troubleshooting network devices.
  • Be prepared to travel frequently and adapt to diverse client environments and technical challenges.

The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in fostering trust and establishing strong working relationships with key clients, serving as the primary point of contact and subject matter expert, always prioritizing their best interests while moving away from a managed service mindset.

While there is no requirement to be present in the office, the clients this role will support are primarily located in the North West region. A vehicle will be provided for travel.
