Position Overview

At Seashell Trust, we are dedicated to providing exceptional care and educational support for children and young adults (up to 25 years) facing severe, profound, and complex learning challenges, including disabilities, sensory impairments, communication disorders, and autism. We are currently seeking a Clinical Education Specialist to collaborate closely with our Lead Nurse and Learning and Development Team in training our support personnel. This role is pivotal in delivering clinical training and competency assessments across all services, ensuring that all medical procedures are executed to the highest standards to meet the needs of the children and young people we serve.

Key Responsibilities

The primary duties of this role include:

  • Designing and implementing high-quality clinical training programs tailored to the specific needs of our current student population.
  • Developing comprehensive induction training materials to guarantee that all staff members receive thorough training in essential clinical areas, with a focus on supporting our residential care teams.
  • Assessing training requirements and overseeing the creation and delivery of educational and training initiatives.
  • Managing the clinical training database to ensure compliance with the standards set by professional and regulatory organizations.
  • Evaluating the effectiveness of the training provided to ensure continuous improvement.
  • Promoting a positive health and safety culture within the organization.

Qualifications

Essential Criteria

  • Must be a Registered Nurse with practical experience working with individuals with complex disabilities.
  • Experience in delivering training in a comparable environment, ideally possessing one of the following training qualifications: D32/D33, A1 Assessor, Level 3 CAVA Assessor, ENB 998, or equivalent.
  • Evidence of recent professional development in a clinical context.
  • Experience in contributing to risk assessments for children and young people with complex disabilities.
  • Willingness to work flexible shifts, including evenings and weekends.
  • A genuine aspiration to advance your career in a Clinical Nurse Educator/Trainer capacity.
