About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled DevOps Engineer to join our Chief Digital Information Office in Commercial & Institutional, where we harness technology innovation, business agility, and one-bank collaboration to push the boundaries of what's possible for our customers.

As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for delivering the technology strategic roadmap, ensuring the right balance between business goals and building future technology at the right cost.

Key Responsibilities
  • Work closely with the DevOps team to find new paths and help teams adopt new tools and technologies.
  • Run and execute incident management calls to resolve issues arising from platforms.
  • Help to maintain high environment availability, liaising with external teams for service restoration.
  • Respond and escalate stakeholder queries.
Requirements

You will need a strong background in software engineering, software design, or database design and architecture, as well as extensive experience of developing software in a SOA or micro-services paradigm.

You should have development experience in Java Microservices and experience of using industry-recognised frameworks, DevOps tools, and AWS cloud-based technology.

  • Knowledge or experience in environment-related functions and activities.
  • Experience in access control, code and artefact deployments, change management, as well as source and version control management.
  • Extensive knowledge on data power, ESB.
  • Extensive knowledge on rightsizing environments and optimising environment usage for costs.
  • Experience with CI/CD such as Gitlab, Teamcity, Artifactory, DART, Consul or UCD.
  • Working experience on tools such as JIRA, Confluence and Splunk.
  • Knowledge on UNIX shell scripts, and scripting languages such as Python.
