Position Overview

JOB TITLE: Structural CAD Specialist

KEY DETAILS:

  • 10 to 15 years of relevant experience required,
  • Experience in the energy sector is essential (Oil & Gas, Petrochemical, Refinery, Offshore...), with a preference for nuclear expertise,
  • Proficiency in TEKLA software is necessary.

Location: Flexible.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Modifying the PDMS 3D model by designing structural elements (including platforms, ladders, monorails, handrails, etc.) based on provided input data and drawings, ensuring adherence to steelwork guidelines throughout the modeling process,
  • Updating the detailed 3D model of the structures using Tekla, utilizing a transfer tool from PDMS to Tekla,
  • Conducting detailed modeling tasks for structural components within the 3D modeling software,
  • Incorporating changes requested by the Structural Engineer into the 3D model, ensuring technical accuracy,
  • Addressing any technical issues or discrepancies by consulting with the responsible engineer, providing technical guidance, and making necessary adjustments to the model,
  • Generating 2D detailed drawings for fabrication purposes,
  • Performing 2D-3D checks to ensure accuracy.

Software and Tools:

  • Extensive experience in structural drafting,
  • Familiarity with AutoCAD,
  • Knowledge of 3D modeling tools for structural design,
  • Experience with PDMS, TEKLA, or similar 3D and 2D software applications,
  • Proficient in spoken and written English,
  • Strong drawing production skills.

Qualifications:

  • Understanding of Pressurized Water Reactors (PWRs) is a plus,
  • Experience in the nuclear sector and plant layout engineering is advantageous,
  • Ability to navigate design and layout constraints effectively.

Language Proficiency: Fluent English; knowledge of French is a plus.
