This organization is looking to recruit a dynamic part-time Paddle Sports Instructor to enhance their Outdoor Education team. The role involves coaching across various age groups and is expected to commence in the upcoming academic year.
The successful candidate will possess the ability to coach paddle sports effectively. There will also be chances to participate in expeditions and lead additional activities such as sailing coaching, provided the candidate holds the necessary qualifications.
Position Details:
- Part-time commitment of 2 to 4 afternoons weekly, influenced by seasonal requirements
- Availability for some weekends and school holiday sessions
- Salary commensurate with experience
Eligibility: Candidates must have the right to work in the UK.
The Outdoor Education department is vibrant and continually evolving, offering a variety of canoeing, kayaking, and sailing experiences, alongside the Duke of Edinburgh's Award program. Due to the growing interest in paddle sports, there is a need to expand the coaching team.
Primarily based at the Senior Boys site, the chosen candidate will collaborate with the Head of Outdoor Education and the Paddle Sports team to enhance the existing canoeing and kayaking curriculum. Most paddle sports activities are conducted from a central location, with additional sessions at local swimming pools and lakes throughout the year.
Candidate Profile:
The ideal applicant will be an experienced canoeist or kayaker with a proven track record in coaching and nurturing young paddlers. While the organization prefers seasoned, qualified coaches, they are open to considering passionate, aspiring coaches who have experience in clubs, schools, or similar settings and are eager to advance their coaching credentials.
Working Hours:
This is a permanent role requiring approximately 2 to 4 afternoons per week during term time, with hours typically ranging from midday to late afternoon or early evening, depending on the season. The department generally operates Monday to Friday afternoons, with occasional weekend and holiday commitments.
