Contract Supervisor Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Contract Supervisor to join our team at Great Bear. As a Contract Supervisor, you will play a crucial role in supporting the Depot Manager in the day-to-day running of the warehouse, ensuring that all service and cost targets are met or exceeded.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Scheduling and Supervision: Schedule and supervise the activities and functions of the warehouse staff to ensure the proper and timely completion of all warehouse activities.
  • Customer Satisfaction: Ensure 100% customer satisfaction by maintaining high standards of housekeeping and adhering to the Company's Health & Safety policy and procedures.
  • Team Performance: Keep and maintain records of team performance against plans and advise the Depot Manager of factors that may disrupt operations.
  • Training and Development: Assist in the organisation of training and development for warehouse staff, including on-the-job coaching.
  • Performance Feedback: Offer regular feedback, formal and informal, on team and individual performance, including behavioural issues and highlighting good performance and areas for further development.
Requirements:
  • Previous Experience: Previous experience of operating in various positions within a warehouse, including operating MHE and managing people.
  • Attention to Detail: High level of attention to detail.
  • Teamwork: Strong team player as well as able to work on their own initiative.
  • Warehouse Systems: In-depth knowledge of operating warehouse systems.
  • Health and Safety: Good knowledge of health and safety.
  • Deadlines and KPIs: Successful experience of achieving challenging deadlines and KPIs.
  • Computer Skills: PC Literate to a minimum of intermediate level in MS Office.
  • Communication: Good communication skills.
