We are currently looking for a skilled Senior Cost Manager to oversee projects on behalf of our client, a contractor in the Facilities Management sector.


The Senior Cost Manager will be tasked with delivering commercial guidance and support to operational teams, with a strong background in Contract Management, NEC, PFI, Client Negotiations, Monthly Financial Reporting, Revenue, and Risk Management.

Experience in a contract-focused commercial environment within the Facilities Management or Civil Engineering sectors is crucial.



Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead all commercial discussions during scheme feasibility meetings and collaborative planning sessions.
  • Manage contracts for high-value and complex projects within the relevant industry.
  • Successfully deliver various projects utilizing different contract forms (NEC preferred).
  • Provide mentorship and training to commercial teams, fostering their professional growth.
  • Monitor actual expenditures against budgets and prepare contract forecasts, identifying risks and opportunities related to project spending.
  • Conduct regular cost and contract audits to ensure compliance with contractual obligations.
  • Offer contractual guidance to the business and project teams, ensuring understanding of contract conditions.
  • Engage in cost planning and budget estimation, reviewing and challenging contractor estimates, and contributing to benchmarking and lessons learned.

Qualifications & Skills:
  • Full UK Driving Licence is essential (travel between sites required).
  • BSc. Hons in Commercial Management or Quantity Surveying.
  • Membership in a relevant professional body or demonstrable extensive experience as a Quantity Surveyor in the relevant industry.
  • Strong commercial acumen combined with a strategic mindset.
  • Solid understanding of performance reporting and financial/budgeting processes.
  • Proficient in MS Office, particularly Excel and Word, along with other specialized systems.
