About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced SCL Shift Manager to join our team at SCS Railways. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for overseeing the safe and efficient execution of tunneling operations on the HS2 project.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage and coordinate the activities of shift engineers to ensure timely and cost-effective completion of tunneling works.
  • Develop and implement strategies to improve productivity, quality, and safety on site.
  • Collaborate with the project team to identify and mitigate risks, and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Provide technical guidance and support to site engineers and other stakeholders as needed.
  • Conduct regular site inspections to monitor progress and identify areas for improvement.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with clients, contractors, and other stakeholders to ensure effective communication and collaboration.
Requirements
  • Proven experience in tunneling operations, with a strong background in SCL construction techniques.
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and direct a team of engineers and technicians.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and mitigate risks.
  • Knowledge of relevant health and safety regulations and protocols.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, with multiple priorities and deadlines.
