Job Title: Cell Culture Technician

Company: Lonza

Role Overview:

The Cell Culture Technician is tasked with employing cell culture methodologies to establish and sustain mammalian cell repositories within a cGMP clean room environment. These repositories are crucial for the production of clinical products at Lonza Biologics' global facilities. The role encompasses a blend of laboratory and administrative responsibilities, with occasional weekend shifts required.

Key Duties:

  • Implement cell culture protocols adhering to aseptic techniques to create and oversee cell repositories in accordance with GMP regulations
  • Prepare inoculum cell cultures utilizing aseptic practices
  • Conduct routine laboratory upkeep and prepare stock solutions and media
  • Oversee the inventory of frozen vials stored in liquid nitrogen
  • Contribute to the preparation of development reports, testing, and documentation
  • Engage in specific responsibilities such as book testing, inventory oversight, and maintenance of facilities/equipment
  • Remain informed on cGMP and safety training obligations
  • Fulfill any additional assigned tasks as necessary

Qualifications:

  • Required: Bachelor's degree in Biology, Biotechnology, or a related scientific discipline
  • Preferred: Master's degree in Biology, Biotechnology, or a related scientific discipline
