We are seeking a dedicated Band 3 Emergency Department Assistant to become a vital part of our enthusiastic multidisciplinary team, committed to providing exceptional emergency care within the Emergency Department at Barts Health NHS Trust.

Key Responsibilities

As an integral member of the emergency department, the Emergency Department Assistant will operate under the guidance of Registered Nurses. This role encompasses collaboration with qualified professionals, executing delegated patient care and treatment for individuals visiting the Emergency Department.

Qualifications

Essential Criteria

Minimum of GCSE Standard or equivalent Basic numeracy and literacy skills

Desirable Criteria

Care Certificate Basic Life Support (BLS) certification

Experience

Experience in customer service or working with the public Previous role as a Healthcare Support Worker in a clinical environment

Desirable Criteria

Experience in venepuncture Experience in cannulation

Knowledge

Proficient in basic computer operations Understanding of patient confidentiality principles Knowledge of health and safety regulations
